Tipperary Handball Notes

This is a big weekend for Tipperary Handball with players in various grades competing in All-Ireland 40x20 Semi Finals. In the U21 Doubles Fergal Collins & Darragh Hardy (Ballina) travel on Saturday to Curraghboy in Roscommon where they meet the Connaught Champions Cian Connolly & Darren Beatty (Roscommon).
On Sunday in Claremorris in Mayo Paddy Collins (Ballina) is up against Joe Neary from Mayo in the Emerald Master B Semi Final. Also in Claremorris Jim O Brien (Silvermines) is up against George Miller from Mayo in the Silver Master B Singles. On Sunday in Cashel Denis Gleeson (Silvermines) is up against Mattie O Fatharta (Galway). David Moloney (Cashel) is up against Morgan Duggan from Galway in the Over 35 Singles & Jim Ryan (Silvermines) is up against Morgan Darcy (Galway) in the Diamond Masters A Singles. We wish all our players the best of luck in the semi finals.

In the Open Senior Singles we had 2 Players involved Fergal Collins & Ger Coonan (Ballina)

In Round 1 in Kingscourt Ger Coonan got a W/O from Owen Mc Kenna from Antrim.
In Round 1 in St Comans in Roscommon Fergal Collins Beat Brian Carroll
(Meath) in a cracking game 16/21, 21/9, 21/19

In Round 2 in Kingscourt Coonan was well beaten by the in form Domnic Lynch from Kerry 21/6, 21/0 while in Roscommon in Round 2 Collins after a brave battle went down to Ricky Mc Cann (Antrim) 21/14, 21/13.

The North Tipperary Juvenile B Finals were held in Nenagh on Friday night last. After some great games of Handball throughout the week the finals proved very enjoyable and well done to the North Board Committee for all their work in running this very worthwhile competition.
