PRO notes 9th Sept 2014

posted 9 Sept 2014, 14:10 by Sluder Bullins

Minor: The minor hurler’s defeated Borris-ileigh last Wednesday in Dolla, in the North ‘A’ hurling semi-final on a score of 1-20 to 1-13. It was level at half-time but a strong second half performance ensured the victory. Then last Saturday they took on Toomevara in Dolla in the North Final. Newport Gaels produced a strong second half to win by 2-15 to 0-18. It is a first ‘A’ hurling title for Ballinahinch players at this grade. It was a great result for this team and a busy period continues with the county semi-final against Clonoulty/Rossmore on Wednesday 10th in Kilcommon.

North Final: The Intermediate final was due to be played this weekend, but due to the draw in the All-Ireland final, the game is expected to be put back until October at the earliest. The club website and Facebook page will be updated once more information is available.

All-Ireland: Well done to Shane McGrath and all the Tipperary team for a superb effort in the final against Kilkenny. They will have to go at it again in three weeks time, so here’s hoping for another cracking game and a win for Tipperary.

Sympathy: The club extends its sympathies to the family and friends of John Skehan (Snr), who passed away recently. May he rest in peace.
