Minor: Newport Gaels (Ballinahinch and Newport combo) got their North 'B' Football Championship underway last week against Inane Rovers, they lost out on a score of 3-05 to 3-08.

U16: In the North 'A' football championship so far Newport Gaels have defeated Nenagh Eire Og (1-15 to 0-03) and drew with Kilruane MacDonaghs (1-06 to 3-01). Check fixtures list for next games.

U12: Ballinahinch defeated Ballina in Shallee last Friday night. Strong performances throughout the field ensured the victory, and got the football campaign off to a good start.

Athletics: Congratulations to Shane McShera-Quinn who won a bronze medal at the recent National indoor athletics championships in U-12 Shot Putt. Well done Shane.


Congratulations: To Sean Carolan, Aimee Hayde & Emma Carolan who competed in the Templemore Athletics Open Day last weekend. Aimee ran a great 600m race to finish second & Emma won silver in her relay. Sean also had a good day, claiming six medals at various events. Well done to all.
