U14: Newport Gaels play Shannon Rovers this Wednesday (6th Aug) in Ballinderry in the North ‘B’ hurling Semi-final. U16: Newport Gaels beat Kildangan on Monday night and will play Roscrea in the last group match on the 13th August in a must win game. Minor: Newport Gaels are due to play this Thursday (7th August) against Borris-ileigh in Templederry @ 7pm. They are currently level on points with Borris-ileigh so a close game is expected.
Intermediate: Well done to the Intermediate hurlers that defeated Ballybacon in Cashel last Saturday. Having lead at half time by the minimum, we recovered from the concession of a goal midway through the second half to win by two points in the end. We have completed all our games in the group and await the results of other games to get our final group position. In the North championship we will play Shannon rovers in the North semi-final in the week after the Tipperary All-Ireland semi-final. |
