Lotto: There was no winner of the draw on 18th April with lotto jackpot of EUR3,200. The numbers drawn were 4, 7, 11, 16. The draw on Easter Monday night (25th April) also produced no winner, the numbers drawn for the jackpot of EUR3,350 were 7, 19, 21, 22. Full details of lucky dip winners are available on the club website.

Tipperary Draw: Membership is now due for the Tipperary Club Draw for 2011/12. All previous members should have received their renewal forms. Anybody interested in joining for the first time please contact any committee member. This is a great way to support both the Ballinahinch GAA club and Tipperary GAA, and there are substantial prizes to be won every month.

Minor: Newport Gaels lost their first game of the championship on a scoreline of 0-04 to 4-09 against Kilruane McDonaghs last week. They still top the group with one game to go against Kildangan in Puckane tomorrow evening (May 5th).

U-8 Hurling Blitz: Our U-8's took part in their first North hurling blitz this year. They played Silvermines, Newport and Ballina. We had a good turn out and everyone really enjoyed the games. Thanks to Silvermines for hosting these games. Our next outing will be on Saturday 28th. May for North/Mid Inter-divisional hurling games which will be held in Thurles.

U-10 Hurling: Thurles are hosting U-10 North/Mid Inter divisional hurling games this coming weekend. Ballinahinch are grouped along with Thurles, Clonakenny Kildangan & Knockshe. We will have further information later in the week.

U-12 Football: Our U-12's will play Shannon Rovers in the final stages of these group games later in the week. Good luck to all our U-12's in this game. It would be great to see our lads progress to the final game of this group of Premier 12's. Good luck to all our U-12 girls & boys.

Congratulations: To Daragh McGrath & Kevin Mulcahy who represented Ballinahinch on winning the Munster Inter County Divisional Hurling competition last weekend. As far as we are aware, this is the first time in the history of the Ballinahinch GAA club that two of our players have represented our club on the U-16 North County Hurling team which won the County title (Garda Cup) & who have now gone on to capture the Munster title. Well done to Daragh & Kevin. Well done also to the Newport lads who are also part of this winning team.

Handball: Congratulations to Gerard Foley of the Ballinahinch Handball club, who was part of the Tipperary U-16 40x20 Handball team, who won the U-16 Munster title recently & who went on to win the All-Ireland title in Kingscourt, Co. Cavan last weekend. Well done Gerard & all your Tipp team mates who were part of this great win.

Best of luck: Best of luck to members of the juvenile club who will be playing with Newport RFC in Thomand Park this Friday night at half-time of the Munster-Connacht game.

Scrap Metal Collection: Last weekend the May bank holiday we held a very successful scrap metal collection weekend in aid of our Intermediate & juvenile clubs. There was a huge amount of material gathered. We would like to thank all our committee members & players alike who put a big effort in to this event. The work for this was not put in just last weekend but at least a month before hand and we would like to thank everyone for their time & effort. An event like this can only be successful if we have the generosity & good will of our members & all our parishioners and we had this good will in spades & we would like to sincerely thank everyone who contributed items to the collection. No matter how small or insignificant an item might seem they all add up and both clubs are extremely grateful. Thanks also to Murty Ryan, John Foley, Dermot Bourke, Rocky McGrath & PJ Lynch the 5 lads who allowed us to use their yards as collection points. This event was held in conjunction with Hegarty Metals & we would also like to thank Liam McGrath of Hegarty's for his help.

Tipp v Cork First Goal Competition: The club is running a first goal competition for the Tipp v Cork MSHC game on May 29th in Semple Stadium. Everyone who buys a ticket gets a time & if that time matches the time of the first goal in the game then that person is the winner. Tickets are EUR 2.00 each and are on sale now. We hope that this will also be a successful venture & judging by the start made last weekend it certainly will be.

Sympathy: The club wishes to extend its sympathies to the family and friends of Johnny Hickey and Tim Philips who both passed away last week. May they rest in peace.
