Hurling: The draw for the County Intermediate championship was made last week, we will play Drom-Inch, Shannon Rovers, Clonakenny and Ballybacon/Grange. In the North Championship we will play Newport in the first round. In the Junior ‘B’ North championship we play Newport, Silvermines, Portroe, Nenagh Eire Og, with the top two qualifying for the semi-finals. In the U21 ‘B’ Championship we are combined as Newport Gaels and play Borrisokane in the first round. In minor ‘A’ level Newport Gaels will play Ballina, Borris-Ileigh, Kilruane MacDonaghs, Nenagh Éire Óg, Roscrea and Toomevara. Top four into semi-finals.
Football: The North Minor ‘A’ championship Newport Gaels will play Ballina, Inane Rovers and Nenagh Éire Óg. Top team to the final and 2nd play 3rd in the semi final.
Juvenile: The juvenile club had a registration night last week, anyone that could not attend is asked to return completed forms and membership fee to Philip Kelly before 29th March. Hurling training will resume shortly.
U21 Football: Well done to Newport Gaels who qualified for the North Semi-final at the weekend. They defeated Portroe in the second round 5-06 to 0-06.
Club Gear: Our leisure wear ranged was launched last weekend. Details are on our website, Facebook and Twitter. Hard copies of brochure and order forms are available from Philip Kelly. Deadline for last order is March 29.
Lotto: There was no winner of last week’s lotto draw for €3,750. The numbers drawn were 2, 11, 12, 17.
