U-12 Hurling: Hard luck to our U-12 team who lost out by the narrowest of margins to Templederry last week, in the quarter-final. This game was one of the most entertaining U-12 games I have seen for a long time. It was end to end entertainment, with score for score throughout the match. Mid way through the second half it looked like we may have been getting on top, after a goal & two points in quick succession. But Templederry responded with a brace of goals in the closing stages of the game to win by one point (4-09 to 4-08). Both teams had improved greatly from when they met in the earlier stages of this competition in Shallee, where Ballinahinch had won by a single point. It was a great credit to both teams & their mentors for having all the players so well prepared & so well behaved on the pitch. Well done to Ballinahinch on a superb display.

U-12 Hurling Blitz: will take place this Wednesday in the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick. Best of luck to all our U-12 players. This is another great opportunity to play on yet another major County grounds.

Fr. Gallagher Tournament: Will take place on Saturday 1st. Sept. Further details at training.

Feile: Ballinahinch GAA Club hosted a special night on Saturday last, to honour our U-14 Newport/Ballinahinch Camogie Feile All-Ireland champions in the new hall in Ballinahinch. Each player was presented with a framed photograph of the team & individually congratulated by Shane McGrath. Thanks to everyone who helped to organise & make this event a great success. Once again, congratulations to all the players who have brought great honour & pride to their parish & to themselves & their parents.

U14 Hurling: In the North 'A' championship Kilruane and Newport Gaels have topped the group and both have qualified for the Semi-finals, The first 1/4 final will see Moneygall at home to Roscrea with the winners playing Newport Gaels, in the second Nenagh host Toomevara with the winners to play Kilruane. The North Semi-finals are fixed for 8th August.
U16 Hurling: The North 'A' championship is well under way in Round 1 Nenagh Eire Og accounted for Kildangan Gaels, while in the second round against Newport ended in a draw 0-13 to 1-10. In round 3 Borrisileigh had just one point to spare over the Gaels 2-16 to 2-15.
Minor hurling: Ballinahinch Gaels had a second win in the North 'B' championship last week, they defeated Borris-ileigh 1-10 to 0-11. In the third round they played out a draw against Portroe 1-11 to 0-14. These results keeps them on course to qualify for the knockout stages.
Intermediate: Our hurler's had their first win of the campaign against Ballina recently. In a close affair we won out 0-12 to 0-10 in Newport. Our final group game is against Shannon Rovers where a win is required to guarantee qualification to the semi-finals.

Senior Football: Fr. John Kenyon's lost out by a single point (3-12 to 1-19) to Cahir in the County first round last weekend. John Ryan (B) and John Foley lined out for the combination at corner back and centre back respectively. They now have to win the divisional final to progress to the County Quarter finals.
