PRO notes 2nd September 2013

U12: Played in the Moneygall tournament last Saturday, unfortunately we lost both matches but put up a good performance. They play Clonlara this Wednesday in a challenge. This will be the last match of the season.

U16 Hurling: Best of luck to Newport Gaels U16's who will play Ballina in the North Quarter final next Friday night (6th Sept) in Newport. Training this Wednesday at 6.30pm in Newport.

Minor: Newport Gaels lost out on qualification to the North 'A' Hurling semi-final on a head-to-head basis with Borris-ileigh edging through. Hard luck to all involved with this team. However they still remain in contention for a county football title with a county semi-final on the horizon, so attention now turns to the big ball for these players.

Intermediate: Well done to Ballina who won the North Intermediate title for the very first time. We now remain the only North Tipp club who have failed to capture this title, a statistic we are trying hard to get rid of. With the divisional championships coming to a conclusion, our opposition in the preliminary QuarterFinal will be known shortly. We can play one from Clonakenny (Mid), Arravale (West), and Ballybacon or Kilsheelan or Fr.Sheehy's from the South. However if we draw the North division, we will receive a bye to the next stage. Training continues this week for all players.

Handball: Ballinahinch handball club will have two membership nights in the alley on the 6th and the 11th of September from 7:30 to 8:30.
