Minor: Newport Gaels defeated Kildangan last week in the Quarter Final of the North 'B' hurling championship. In an absorbing game Newport Gaels won after extra-time 1-29 to 2-24. They now face Burgess in the semi-final, which promises to be another tight game. Check fixture list for details and please go and support this team.

All-Ireland Community Games: Congratulations to Tom Hennessy who finished fourth in the All-Ireland U16 high jump recently, with a jump of 1.65m. This was another great achievement for Tom who has shown yet again that he is among the top athletes in the country. Well done Tom and best of luck again for next season.

Lotto: There was no winner of last weeks (22nd Aug) jackpot of EUR5,300. The numbers drawn were 20, 22, 25, 30. The club is looking for volunteers to sell lotto tickets in the local pubs at the weekends. The more sellers we get the less work load for everybody. Please contact T.J. All-Ireland: Best of luck to Shane McGrath and the Tipperary team in the All-Ireland final next Sunday. All the parish will be hoping they can have another successful outing and bring Liam McCarthy back to Tipperary again.

First Goal: The €300 prize for the first goal competition in the Tipperary Vs Cork match still has not been claimed. The result of the first goal competition was 27minutes 4seconds. If this is not claimed in the next few weeks the money will be donated to one of our local charities.
