Intermediate: We defeated Moyne-Templetouhy in the last round of the county hurling league last week to put us through from the group. Well done to all involved in the win, the score was 2-14 to 0-07. We await the fixtures for the knockout stages. Our second game in the North Intermediate championship is due to take place this weekend against Silvermines. Please check fixtures for details. U-12 Hurling: Well done to our U-12's who drew with Moneygall recently. We play Lorrha later this week in our final group game. Another good result in this game could leave us in a nice position for a place in the semi-final. Good luck to all our U-12's & to all those involved with this team. County Community Games: took place in Templemore on Sunday last. Twenty four athletes represented the Ballinahinch parish & well done to each & every one of them for competing so well & in such happy spirits. We also had some medal winners. Emma Hennessy won gold in her U-16 high jump & will represent the parish in the All-Irelands in Athlone in August. Best of luck to Emma. Thea Curtain ran a great race in her U-14 600m to claim the silver medal. Kate O'Brien also ran a great race in her U-8 60m sprint to win a silver medal. We finished off the day with our U-13 mixed relay team giving a great performance to claim the bronze medal. Team members were; Thea Curtain, Issy Ryan, James Lynch, Sean Carolan & Cathail Ryan. Congratulations: to Tom Hennessy on his silver medal in the 4x400m relay in the Tailtean Games recently. Congratulations also, to Sarah Hennessy on her fourth place success in the All-Ireland Ball Throw (Partnered) in Cork recently. Lotto: There was no winner of last weeks (18th June) lotto for EUR3,650. The numbers drawn were 5, 6, 15, 18. Tipperary: Well done to Shane McGrath and the Tipperary team for qualifying for the Munster Final for the fourth time in five years with a win over Cork last weekend. Best of luck in the final |
