U21 Hurling: Congratulations to the U21 team who won the County 'C' hurling final last Saturday in Cashel. All the players put in a great performance throughout to beat Carrick Davins on a score of 5-23 to 2-10, and captain Cormac McGrath accepted the trophy on behalf of the team after the game. This team had won the U21 football title earlier in 2011, and great credit is due to all the players and selectors involved with this team. See Match Report for more details.

Minor: Newport Gaels lost the North Minor 'B' football semi-final last week 1-09 to 4-07. Kildangan proved too strong for the team on the night. Hard luck to all involved with the team.

Fixtures: We play the first round of the North Intermediate football championship Thursday evening against Ballina in Newport. The second round of the North Junior 'C' hurling championship takes place this weekend against Kilruane, a win is needed to put us back in contention for a semi-final spot. Check fixture list for full details.

All-Ireland: There is a very big demand for All-Ireland tickets and the club may be limited to the amount of tickets allocated. Therefore people who have paid their club membership or who have paid for the Tipp draw will have to get priority.

Lotto: There was no winner of last weeks (15th Aug) lotto jackpot. The numbers drawn were 5, 11, 22, 29.
