U12 Football: Ballinahinch won the Under 12 'C' football final last Saturday in Newport. It has been six years since we last won it and hopes were high going into the match that we could reverse the result against Lorrha from the group stage match. We made a great start in the first half and built up a lead of 1-5 to 0-1 at half time. A goal by Sean Carolan and points tagged on James Lynch (2), Adam Ryan, Brain Keane and Karl Kelly put us in a healthy stage. Lorrha made an excellent come back and started to control the game. Cathal Ryan scored a goal and Brian Keane added a point to complete our scoring Lorrha eventually pulled the lead back to one point but the final whistle was a relief to players and supporters from our side as we held out to win 2-6 to 2-5. Well done to all players and to Ger O'Reilly and Michael Keane for the great work they had done with them.
