U16 Football: Well done to all involved with Newport Gaels who are the North 'A' Football champions after defeating Kilruane McDonagh's last week. See match report for details. Best of luck to them in the county series now.

Hurling: Last Saturday we defeated Rockwell Rovers in the second round of the county intermediate championship, again a good start to the match provided the platform for the win. See match report for full details. We are due to play Kilruane McDonaghs in the North Junior 'B' league next Sunday (18th) in Cloughjordan @6.30pm. Training continues this week in Shallee, all players asked to attend.

Minor: Newport Gaels will contest the North 'A' football final against Ballina on Thursday 16th May in Portroe. Please support the team as they look to win the title.

Lotto: There was no winner of last weeks (6th May) lotto jackpot of €4,300. The numbers drawn were 7, 10, 11, 20.

County Juvenile Athletics Championships: Well done to all our local athletes, who competed in the County Championships in Templemore last weekend. There was some very good performances by all. Some of the medal winners were as follows: Tom Hennessy won gold in his 800m, silver in High Jump, & double bronze in 100m & 400m sprints; Conor Lynch won double gold in his 100m & 400m sprints; Emma Hennessy won double silver in her Hurdles & Long Jump; Sean Carolan won triple gold in his Long Jump, Shot Putt & Javelin & triple silver in his High Jump, Hurdles & Sprint; Sarah Hennessy won bronze in her High Jump.
