Cycle: The GAA club in association with Keeper Cycling Club are hosting a 65km and 20km cycle on Sunday 18th May at 11am. Entry is €20 per person. U16: Well done to Newport Gaels are North ‘A’ Football champions, in unusual circumstances with Nenagh Eire Og not turning up for the game. Congratulations to everybody involved and best of luck in the county series. Intermediate: The hurlers defeated Shannon Rovers 3-15 to 1-13 in Nenagh last Sunday. Playing with the wind in the first half we led 2-09 to 1-05, with Mark Kelly getting the goals. In the second-half we kept the scores coming to keep Rovers at bay. Mark Kelly completing a hat-trick to secure the win. Our next game is on Tuesday 20th against Clonakenny. Another tough game is expected here. Minor: Well done to Newport Gaels who had a second win of the football campaign last week. They defeated inane Rovers 4-15 to 2-09. U14: Hard luck to the U14 Newport Gaels team who lost out to Ballina in the North semi-final last week. They are still through to the Feile finals which will take place in June this year. Lotto: There was no winner of last week’s lotto jackpot for €4,850 . The numbers drawn were 1, 16, 23, 29.
