Minor: Hard luck to Newport Gaels minor footballers, they lost out to Drom/Inch 2-09 to 0-17 in the County ‘A’ semi-final last weekend. Following their North final win at the beginning of May, they put a big effort in throughout the year and they were unfortunate not to reach the county final. Thanks to all the players and all those involved with preparing this team throughout the year.

AGM: The adult club AGM took place last Saturday night, a detailed secretary’s report gave a full review of the club both on and off the field for 2015. The following were elected on the night: Chair: Sean Ryan (B), Vice-Chair: John Healy, Philip Kelly, Secretary: Joseph Fitzgerald, Assistant Sec: John Ryan (B), Treasurer: Mike Gleeson, Assistant Treasurer: Eamonn Finn, Lotto Co-Ordinators: Cathal Bourke, Maura Foley, Tipp Draw Co-ordinator: TJ McLoughlin, Co. Board Rep: PJ Lynch, PRO: Raphael Ryan. We will be joined with Templederry from U14 to U21 grades this year. The juvenile AGM also took place last week. The following were elected on the night: Chair: Cormac McGrath, Secretary: Joe Moran, Treasurer: Edel Hanley, Ethics Officers: Mary Finn, Therese Ryan, Coaching Officer: Cormac McGrath, School Liaison Officer: Pa Ryan. Team mentors were assigned to all age groups. We are a host club for the U14 Feile this year a lot of work will need to be done in preparation for this event. More information will be given at each stage. Again thanks to all for their efforts for both clubs during 2015 and we are looking forward to a successful 2016.
