U-12 Football: Our U-12's made the long trip to Lorrha last Friday evening for our second match in the new U-12 games (Premier 12's). Lorrha got off to a great start & soon found themselves leading by three goals to no score. Ballinahinch then began to play some very good football & began to put a few scores on the scoreboard. We began to play more as a team & started to pass the ball around very well. By half time there was only four points between the teams (4 -0 to 2 - 02). Ballinahinch dug deep in the second half & fought for every ball. They consistently attacked the Lorrha goal area, but the Lorrha defence were resilient & defended well throughout. Eventually, after continuous pressure we got a couple of well deserved goals & with about five minutes remaining, Ballinahinch were leading by a single point (4-02 to 4-03). After another goal & a saved penalty from Lorrha, the game ended in favour of the home side, Lorrha (5 -02 to 4-03). Cathail Ryan, James Lynch & Brian Keane gave great work rate throughout & got some fine scores, while Nial Harrington, Michael Ryan & Elliott Moloney showed great heart & determination in defence. Every player played well on the night & displayed some great team work throughout. Our next match is away to Burgess in Kilcolman this coming Friday evening. U21: Well done to the hurlers who had a good win over Fr.Sheehys on Friday night in Cappawhite in the first round of the county championship. The second round is due to be played shortly. We lost 0-09 to 1-11 in a closely contested game. Our next game is against Portroe. Scrap Weekend: Do you have any unwanted metal items in your backyard or farmyard?
