Sympathies: The club extends it sympathies to the family and friends of Dan Gleeson who passed away last Sunday. He was one of the current Presidents of the GAA club. May he rest in peace.
Schools: Well done to our national school team who are setting a blazing winning trail at moment. Last Wednesday they won the north schools title by beating Moneygall in the final. They now play Rosegreen in the county semi final this week with the winners going to play in Semple Stadium on Jun 17/18. Hopefully they can go on and add to their county football title to do a potential double. On Thursday, they defended their title of Newport Schools tournament when they won out the blitz on the day. A total of eight teams took part and they shaded out local rivals Birdhill in the final. Our thanks to Newport for running a brilliantly organised day out. Well done to the panel of players, to Mr. Harnett and all the coaches involved during the year. Last Sunday Lima King had the honour of playing with Tipperary primary football team against Waterford in Semple stadium. Liam played excellent and showed that the big ball is alive and well in our parish. Best wishes to Karl Kelly who has made the final primary game hurling panel and will be playing on Munster final day should Tipperary beat Limerick in the senior match on June 21. All success news from the school at moment.
U14: Best of luck to Newport Gaels footballers this weekend, when they play Kilsheelan/Kilcash in the County semi-final. Check fixtures for full details and please support the team.
