Intermediate: Well done to the Intermediate hurlers who qualified for the North final last weekend. They defeated Shannon Rovers 2-14 to 1-16. A goal from Brendan Ryan in the first half helped us to a 1-07 to 0-8 lead. However Shannon Rovers had the game back level within three minutes of the restart. A long range free from Shane McGrath gave us some breathing space, but in the final minutes Rovers struck for a goal to tie up the game. A free from Davy Gleeson in i...njury time secured the win. The North final will now be fixed after the Senior All-Ireland semi-final. Newport Gaels: The minor hurlers had a good start to their campaign last week with a 1-20 to 2-11 win over Roscrea. They play Portroe in Ballina this Thursday(23rd). The U16 hurlers were beaten by Burgess 5-13 to 2-10 last week and play Borrisokane this week. The U14 hurlers have qualified for the North Semi-final with details to be confirmed. U12: The U12 hurlers are in the North semi final against Roscrea, the date of which is to be confirmed. Training for U6 to U12 continues on Wednesday evenings in Shallee. Lotto: The lotto remains at €10,000, the numbers drawn were 2, 4, 16, 18. Thanks to all for their continued support. |
