PRO NOTES 5TH FEB 2017

Dinner Dance: Reminder the club will hold a Dinner Dance and medal presentation on Saturday Feb 18th in the Abbey Court Hotel. This night will celebrate the successes of 2016 where the Intermediate hurlers won the County league title, a first ever North Intermediate championship and also the U21s won the North ‘B’ hurling title. On the night the club will also honour the Silver Jubilee of the 1992 Junior ‘A’ team that won the North Tipp hurling championship. Tickets are still available, to book your tickets (€35 each) please text Joe Fitzgerald on 087 2021158.

Scorn a Paisti: An enjoyable evening was had by all participants in Killoscully hall on Sunday last. All participants received a medal for their efforts. Those who qualified will compete this Sunday in Portroe, best of luck to all. Also thank you to Mary Finn and Eilis Bourke for organising the event and anyone else who helped out on the day, especially our judges Claire Lynch and Margaret Sheehy.

County League: We have been drawn in Division 3A of the county hurling league with Moyle Rovers, St. Marys, Moyne-Templetouhy, Lattin Cullen Gaels and Sean Treacy’s. The league system in Tipperary will now be run on a promotion/relegation basis so the games should be competitive, and good preparation for the championships.

Minor: There are 9 teams in the North ‘B’ football championship, Ballinahinch/Templederry are in a group with Silvermines and Portroe. This is expected to begin on March 18th.

Referee: Well done to Philip Kelly who was the referee for the 2017 Co-Op Superstores.ie Munster Hurling League final in Gaelic Grounds recently. Cork defeated Limerick by a point in the game.

Membership: The club membership rates are as follows for 2017: Adult Player - €50, , Student - €30, Adult non-player - €40. For juvenile players it is €30 for the first player, €15 for the next child in the family and for three or more children membership is capped at €50. A registration night will take place for the juvenile club on Saturday 4th March, more information closer to the date. Membership is due for payment prior to 31st March.

Lotto: There was no winner of last weeks lotto jackpot, the numbers drawn were 6, 9, 14, 25. The new jackpot stands at €2,900.

U12: Hard luck to the hurlers lost out in the North ‘C’ Final to a much stronger Lorrha team last Saturday in Portroe. A great effort was put in all by the players and they will develop further again next year. Thanks all involved with this team throughout the year.
 
Intermediate: The hurlers defended their County league title last Saturday in Nenagh. They defeated Roscrea 2-19 to 0-13. The match was close throughout the first half, but a two goal burst late in the half put Ballinahinch in control. From then on they maintained the lead to close out the game. Well done to all involved with the team. The next match for this team will be the North Final. Best wishes to John O’Grady who suffered an injury in the closing moments of the match.
 
Juvenile Blitz: The juvenile hurlers played a blitz last Saturday in Borrisokane. They showed all their skills in the matches against Moneygall, Shannon Rovers and Ballina and all players enjoyed the experience.
 
U16: Well done the hurlers who defeated Burgess 4-09 to 3-09 last Friday evening. They play Clonakenny/Moneygall next.
 
U14: Best of luck to the hurlers against Borrisokane in the North ‘B’ semi-final this Wednesday (17th Aug) in Shallee at 6.30pm. Please support the team.
 
Croke Park: A group from the juvenile club attended the All-Ireland semi-final last Sunday. A great day was had by all, made extra special by the Tipperary wins and the nine goals everyone got to cheer. Thanks to everyone involved in organising the trip.

PRO NOTES 8TH AUG 2016

Intermediate: Well done to the Intermediate hurlers who defeated Roscrea in the North hurling semi-final last Sunday on a scoreline of 1-12 to 0-6. Having played with the wind in the first half we lead by eight points. In a very low scoring second half the team worked hard to ensure the win. They will play Roscrea again on Saturday 13th in Nenagh at 7pm in the County League Final.
 
U12: Best of luck to the hurlers in the North final on Saturday against Lorrha in Toomevara. Please support the team as the look to bring a title to the club.
 
Minor: The hurlers lost out last week against Borrisokane (2-24 to 0-8) and Lorrha/Shannon Rovers (4-19 to 3-11). They play Ballina next.
 
Upcoming: The U14 hurlers play Borris-ileigh in the North quarter-final on Wednesday (10th Aug) and the U16 hurlers play Burgess this Friday in Kilcolman. Check fixtures for details.
 
Congratulations: Best wishes from all in the club to Mike Gleeson and Linda Carroll on their marriage recently. All the best for the future.
 
Tipp Draw: Congratulations to Joe Fitzgerald on winning €500 in the recent Tipperary draw.
 
Sympathies: The club extends its sympathies to the family and friends of Kitty Slattery (Ballywilliam) who passed away recently. May she rest in peace.

Camp 4 Champs: Don’t forget Camp 4 Champs begins on Mon 11th to Fri 15th July from 10am to 2pm daily in Shallee. The camp has been a great success every year and everyone always has a great time in a fun and safe environment. This year the kids will get to meet their favourite county Stars, play lots of different games, meet the Cúl heroes and most of all have lots of fun.

Junior: Hard luck to the Junior ‘B’ hurlers who lost out by the minimum score to Roscrea last Friday in the first round of the championship.
 
Minor: The hurlers take on Burgess on Friday (7th July) in Kilcolman at 7.30pm in the first round of the championship.

Juvenile:  The U12’s start their hurling campaign against Toomevara on Monday (4th July) in Shallee at 6.30pm. The U16 hurlers then take to the field for 8pm to play Ballina. The U14 hurlers are due to play Newport in Newport at 6.30pm on Wednesday (6th July). Best of luck to all involved.

Lotto: The lotto jackpot now stands at €8,500. The numbers drawn last week were 4, 7, 14, 18. Thanks to all for their continued support.

Junior: The hurlers lost out in a had fought game to Nenagh last Friday night in Shallee. The final score was 2-14 to 1-15. Ballinahinch came from seven points down to draw level with Nenagh, but Nenagh added to their score again and pushed in front and despite big pressure coming in injury time, Ballinahinch failed to find the winning goal.

U14 football: Best of luck to our u14s who are joined with Templederry who play the North final this Thurs 19th Vs Lorrha/Rovers in Puckane at 7pm. Support welcome 

Club togs: Specially designed club togs for the amalgamation teams with Templederry can be purchased before June 10th . Please contact 087 2863683 for to place an order.

Cake sale: As part of Feile fund raising, we are holding a Cake Sale on Saturday evening June 11th after Templederry mass. We would ask anyone who can help out with baking products please make contact with any of the Feile committee or u14 management.

Community games: Track and field events takes place in Shallee on Sun May 29th at 6.30pm. Toddlers race also will take place. All welcome to take part. Contact Christine Hennessy for further details.

Intermediate: The hurlers had a hard fought win over Shannon Rovers last Sunday in Nenagh. The final score was 1-13 to 0-13. Level at half-time 7points each with some good points from our forward line. In the second half Cormac McGrath made a crucial save early on before we took the lead again. Midway through the half a well worked move saw Davy Gleeson score the goal that proved the difference in the end. They have now qualified for the county championship knock out stages.

U14: Best of luck to the U14 footballers in the North semi-final when they take on Burgess in Shallee on Wednesday 11th. Please support the team as they look to reach the North final.

Juvenile: There will be games for our U6 to U10s against Sean Treacy’s on Friday 13th in Shallee at 7.30.

Fundraiser: The club will be running a “Guess the Score” fundraiser for our U14s in this year's Feile which is less than 49 days away. Please support this and all help will be appreciated coming up to this big event on the weekend of the 17th June.

Intermediate: The second round of the county hurling championship takes place next Sunday in Nenagh at 7pm against Shannon Rovers. A win will see the team qualify for the knockout stages. 

Junior: The hurlers had a busy week playing two North league games in five days. They defeated Moneygall 0-16 to 0-15 last Tuesday and lost out to Newport 1-17 to 0-10 on Saturday. A great effort on both days from the team. 

Camogie: Congratulations to Caroline and Bill Mullaney on a huge achievement and a huge honour for the parish of Ballinahinch/Killoscully. Tipperary defeated Galway in the Minor A camogie All Ireland final. Caroline lined out at full back for the Premier while Bill was the manager of the team. Well done to all involved. 

U12: Hard luck to the footballers who lost out to Newport in the North 'C' final last Saturday. The final score was 2-06 to 2-03. A great effort was put in by all involved with this team. 

Minor: Hard luck to the footballers who lost their North Semi-final 2-13 to 1-06 against Portroe last week. The combo team put in good work since coming together and hopefully this effort will be brought to the hurling also.

Tipperary Draw: This years Tipp Clubs Draw was launched last Thursday night in Nenagh , thanks again to everyone for their continued support. Can all promoters please contact T J Mcloughlin 086-3429789 asap to confirm who is joining the draw this year. The club would encourage new promoters to come on board this year to keep things fresh. The draw is a very valuable source of income for the club with 50% of sales going back to the club.

Intermediate: The hurlers defeated Cashel last Sunday on a score line of 0-19 to 0-14. They lead 0-11 to 0-06 at half-time, but a determined Cashel reduced the deficit to two points. However Ballinahinch finished the stronger to win out. They play Shannon Rovers next where another victory would mean qualification to the county knockout stages.

U14: Hard luck to the U14 footballers who were defeated in the Feile Peil ‘B’ county final last weekend. They defeated Cashel in the semi-final and put a strong showing against Grangemocklor/Ballyneal in the final. The lost out by two points in the end 2-02 to 1-7.

Juvenile: Training for U6 to U10 continues every Wednesday at 6.30pm and Saturday at 3.30pm in Shallee. New players are welcome.

Tipperary Draw: This years Tipp Clubs Draw was launched last Thursday night in Nenagh , thanks again to everyone for their continued support. Can all promoters please contact T J Mcloughlin 086-3429789 asap to confirm who is joining the draw this year. The club would encourage new promoters to come on board this year to keep things fresh. Intermediate: The first round of the hurling championship starts next Sunday against Cashel in Cappawhite at 1.30pm. Please support the team as they look to start well in the competition. 

Junior: The hurlers are due to play Newport next Thursday at 7pm. This is the first league game of the year. 

Academy: U6 to U10 training continues every Wednesday @6.30pm and Saturday @3.30pm. All are welcome.

Sympathies: The club wishes to extend its sympathies to the family and friends of Mick Hourigan. He was a member of the Knockmeal Rangers team that won the North junior title in 1949, he was serving as president of the GAA club for the past number of years. May he rest in peace
