Welcome to Ballinahinch GAA website
Ballinahinch GAA club is located in the parish of Killoscully & Ballinahinch in North Tipperary, bordering Silvermines, Newport, and Ballina. It has a population of less than 500 people. For the past few years we have fielded championship teams at Intermediate, Junior, U21, and Minor levels picking up silverware at both North and County level.
2011 has been a successful year so far with our U21 football and hurling teams winning county titles. The minor footballers reached the North football semi-final. In 2010 we won our first ever North Intermediate Football title, while also our Minor Football team brought home the County 'C' title.
2002 was one of the most successful years in the club history when we were awarded the title of North Club of the Year. The major reason for this honour was due to efforts on the playing field. We won both North and County Junior Hurling ‘A’ and North and County Junior Football ‘B’ titles, also winning the U21 ‘B’ North Hurling and narrowly lost out in the County Final, after a replay. Efforts off the field also helped as initial planning had begun for the development of our field and facilities. More recently we have had success at both North and County level in U12, U14 and U21 grades. With our teams competing at all grades we can hope for further success on the playing fields into the future.
The history of the club ‘Playing with the Hill’ was published by John Ryan (J). This provides a great source of knowledge on all aspects of the club. It can be purchased by contacting any club officer, and in numerous shops and public houses in the area.
We are now on Facebook also. Keep up-to-date with club events.
